In a world devastated by a plague caused by cosmetic products, Tripod, a dermatological clinic director, searches for his mentor Antoine Rouge, who has disappeared. Tripod joins various organizations and meets individuals trying to adapt to a world without sexually mature women. He encounters a man who grows new organs and has them removed, and later, a group of pedophiles holding a 5-year-old girl, who urge him to mate with her.
