A young man named Baskaran, also known as Boss, lives a carefree life without a job. His older brother Saravanan is a veterinarian who remains unmarried at 45. The family is complete with their mother, sister, and a new bride who enters their home after Saravanan falls in love. Meanwhile, Boss falls for Chandrika, the sister of his new sister-in-law. His best friend Nallathambi, who runs a hair salon, helps him with everything, including passing exams and wooing Chandrika. However, things change when Boss asks Chandrika's hand in marriage, which is opposed by her father and sister-in-law due to his unemployment and lack of a college degree. The second half of the film follows Boss's transformation and his efforts to win Chandrika's hand in marriage.
