Bel Air background

Bel Air

Christopher Coppola's tongue-in-cheek spin on SUNSET BOULEVARD, inspired by Billy Wilder, Paul Morrissey, and Andrew Lloyd Webber, stars Marc Coppola, a dead ringer for his brother Nicolas Cage, who is also an executive producer.

Daring to tread in the footsteps of Billy Wilder, Paul Morrissey and Andrew Lloyd Webber, Christopher Coppola's tongue-in-cheek spin on SUNSET BOULEVARD stars brother Marc (a ringer for third sibling Nicolas Cage, an executive producer here) as a pizza delivery guy who dreams of recapturing his onetime glory as a child television star. Delivering a pie, he's adopted as protégé and sex toy by a wealthy, retired broadcast executive (Barbara Bain, who starred on the original 1960s MISSION: IMPOSSIBLE series). While this appears to be a stroke of good fortune, it increasingly becomes more of a curse for our hapless hero. Coppola's usual penchant for eccentric casting gives colorful supporting roles to the likes of R&B legend Lou Rawls and scream queen Jennifer Rubin. - Dennis Harvey
