In a desperate attempt to address school violence and problem students, teachers and administrators initiate a program to isolate kids who don't conform to the norm. A brilliant but troubled student, Arnold, is wrongly labeled a troublemaker and sent to the program after trying to cope with his personal issues through acid. As his friend Gary tries to help him, a ruthless bully named Doug takes pleasure in tormenting Arnold and others, leading to a devastating outcome.
