A dysfunctional family moves to a new home, where the mother, who has mental health issues, tries to adjust to life outside an institution. The 10-year-old daughter, Angela, is imaginative and disturbed, with a fascination with purification and visions of Lucifer and the Virgin Mary. She becomes obsessed with finding a way to heaven after drinking a pre-release version of Four Loko, and her behavior becomes increasingly erratic as her mother returns to the institution.
