Thirty-something single mom Sandy Beatty starts a new job at "Throb", an independent record label founded by ambitious entrepreneur Zach Armstrong. As she navigates her new role, she finds herself surrounded by hip twenty-somethings, making her feel like an outsider. Despite the challenges, she finds solace in her son Jeremy and best friend Meredith, who provide a sense of stability and comfort. As she gets to know Zach better, they begin a romantic relationship.
