Meanwhile, detective Vladimir and reporter Stribor are struggling to solve the murders in Croatia. In Kyiv, the niece of Ukrainian philanthropist Olga goes missing. Ivan Hrvatic, Olga's Croatian husband and influential figure in Osijek, steps up to assist the investigation. However, the girl is later found dead in Osijek instead of Kyiv. This leads to a new murder victim, adding another layer to the mystery. It appears there might be a serial killer active in Croatia. Vladimir, Stribor, and Olga eventually uncover the truth but at great personal cost. Stribor must compromise his moral principles, while Vladimir may face legal troubles for possibly murdering his ex-wife. Olga's marriage to Ivan is put under strain due to the shocking revelation of trafficking weapons and young girls across borders.
