House of Cards

A ruthless British politician's relentless pursuit of power drives her to make morally questionable decisions.

The story follows Francis Urquhart, the Chief Whip of the Conservative Party, who remains neutral when Margaret Thatcher resigns as leader. After a general election, he expects the new Prime Minister, Henry Collingridge, to reward him with a senior Cabinet post. However, when he's denied this, he plots to unseat Collingridge and become party leader, ultimately aiming to become Prime Minister.
