High school soccer players from various parts of Japan come together on an unconventional project aimed at identifying the ultimate, ego-driven forward in the global game.

Japan is consistently losing the World Cup, with Isagi Yoichi, a high school forward, being eliminated in the final qualifier for nationals. He is then invited to participate in an exclusive program called "Blue Lock" where his coach, Ego Jinpachi, plans to transform Japanese football by isolating 300 young forwards in a prison-like environment and rigorously training them to become the world's most egotistical striker.
