The story follows a Jewish family's perilous journey to escape the Nazis, taking them from their home in Berlin to Zurich, then Paris, and ultimately, to London.
In 1933 Berlin, a young girl's life is turned upside down when her father, a Jewish journalist, flees to Zurich to escape the Nazis, and she and her family are forced to leave everything behind.
