Donna Jensen, raised in a trailer park in Silver Springs, Nevada, dreams of escaping her humble beginnings. Inspired by Sally Weston's book, Donna becomes determined to become a flight attendant, despite never having flown. After a rocky start, Donna discovers a natural talent for the job and applies to work for Royal Airlines, where Sally mentors her. As Donna rises through the ranks, she faces obstacles, including a difficult trainer and a competitive friend, while navigating her relationship with Ted, a law student from Cleveland.
