Up from the Beach

Following the Allied invasion of Normandy on D-Day, a group of American airmen bring freedom to a quaint French village, previously held captive by the German army.

American soldiers, led by Sergeant Edward Baxter, liberate a French village from German occupation, freeing hostages and a wounded Wehrmacht major who had previously saved the villagers' lives. Despite initial orders to evacuate the civilians, they face numerous challenges and are eventually allowed to return to their homes after the German bombardment subsides.
