A penniless horse-racing expert, the Duke Gagliardo della Forcoletta, discovers he has a daughter working at the Aurora bar. He enters a TV quiz show to win the necessary funds to buy the bar, achieving fame in the process. However, his success attracts unwanted attention from gangsters Nick Molise and Joe Taccola, who bet on his outcome, and the Duke is subsequently kidnapped.
