Noah Dearborn, a 90-year-old man, is determined to protect his 35-acre Georgia property from a shopping mall developer. Despite being unfamiliar with modern life, Noah excels at woodworking and refuses to be swayed by the developer's plans. A psychologist, who is the girlfriend of one of the developers, is tasked with evaluating Noah's mental competence, but instead finds herself drawn to his simple way of life and joins him in his fight to preserve his land.
