In a galaxy where space travel has become a dirty business, Samuel Curtis, a hardened astronaut, takes on a mission to deliver a rare cat to a remote asteroid saloon. There, he reunites with his former dance partner, the infamous Blueberry Pirate, who rewards him with a homemade cloning device that creates a rare and valuable Real Live Girl. Curtis proposes a trade with the owner of Jupiter, exchanging the clone for the Boy Who Actually Saw A Woman's Breast, a coveted commodity on the all-male mining planet. His plan is to take the Boy to Venus, trade him for the remains of Johnny R., and collect a handsome reward. However, his nemesis, Professor Heiss, is hot on his trail, driven by an obsession to kill Curtis. As Curtis navigates the dangers of the solar system, he forms an unlikely alliance with the Boy and a group of miners on a primitive space station, who are struggling to survive in harsh conditions. Along the way, Curtis discovers that even in a world ruled by commerce and danger, good can sometimes prevail.
