The Stonewall Riots "As Told By La Miranda" recounts the events that led up to the 1969 riots at the Stonewall Inn, a popular "drag" bar in Greenwich Village. After years of police raids, extortion, and brutality, a group of drag queens decide to fight back when the police try to arrest them. The film is told through the eyes of "La Miranda", a regular customer at the Stonewall Inn, who falls in love with "Matty Dean", a handsome young man. The story also features "Bostonia", the self-styled Queen Mother of the drag queens, and Vinnie, the closeted proprietor of the Stonewall.
