During the Mau Mau uprising in British Colonial Kenya, childhood friends Peter and Kimani are torn apart as they take up opposing sides.

Two childhood friends, Peter and Kimani, face the harsh reality of racial inequality in Kenya. After Kimani's father is imprisoned for adhering to traditional customs, Kimani joins a rebellion seeking to expel all non-Kenyans. Despite initially supporting the cause, Kimani is torn by the indiscriminate violence and begins to question the morality of the movement.
