Dixie, a talented actress from the Broadway production of "Rainbow Girls", is lured to Hollywood by a charismatic director who sees immense potential in her and offers her a movie contract, leading her to leave her stage roots behind.

Dixie, a Broadway actress, is promised a movie contract by smooth-talking Director Frank Buelow, but finds herself in Hollywood with no deal. She befriends washed-up actress Donny and becomes entangled in a tale of plagiarism, as Frank's storyline is revealed to be a copy of the stage play "Rainbow Girls."
