Shotgun Wedding background

Shotgun Wedding

A young man named Rafe Anchors yearns to marry the daughter of his father's arch-rival, but his father is being coerced into a union with a sultry and manipulative woman who is significantly younger than him.

In the small town of Mudcat Landing, population 47, a feud between two families has been simmering for over 20 years. The story centers around Buford Anchors, a 60+ year old river folk man, who lives on a houseboat with his two grown sons, Rafe and Shub, and his almost-grown daughter, Lucianne. Melanie, a 27-year-old woman on the run from the law, has been staying with them after taking refuge on their boat.
