A former New York stock broker, Richmond Hobson, has turned his dream into a reality by becoming a cowboy in British Columbia. He runs a fledgling ranch with his partner Panhandle Phillips, but faces challenges from a local banker who wants to buy their land cheaply. Rich starts having dreams about a beautiful blonde woman, which come true when he meets Gloria McIntosh, an aspiring débutante who is swept off her feet by the mysterious cowboy. They get married impulsively, but Rich soon realizes he needs to hire inexperienced boys to help on the ranch, with Gloria acting as a cowgirl. However, one of the new hires has a secret, and another, a black man with a rumored past, adds an extra layer of complexity to the situation.
