A struggling German teacher, Gunars Taurins, takes an unusual job to find a house in France for a wealthy Latvian, leading him to form an unexpected bond with a lovesick German on his journey.

The economic situation in Latvia forces the unemployed German teacher Gunars Taurins (Gundars Abolins) to accept a strange job offer: He is asked to find a house in France for a rich Latvian. On his trip, he befriends the lovesick German Jan who is a proclaimed fan of nuclear power plants. Gunars enjoys the late summer and forgets to complete the task he came for. He gets fired and ends up broke at the seaside in the Bretagne. A highly optimistic film!
