In the small town of Long Lake, Washington, Hailey Goode runs a non-profit organization, Puppy Party Playdates, which provides puppies for children's parties and aims to find forever homes for rescue puppies. When Hailey meets Ryan Hill, a widowed father, at one of her puppy parties, they form a connection and begin to consider dating again. As they navigate their relationship, they must also find a compromise between their professional goals and personal feelings.
