King Richard the Lionheart and other European monarchs are in the Holy Land to retake Jerusalem from the Saracens in 1191. However, infighting and treachery threaten their efforts. Two nobles, Sir Giles Amaury and Conrad, Marquis of Montferrat, plot to assassinate Richard.
