In the Battlefields background

In the Battlefields

In war-torn Beirut, a young girl named Lina finds an unlikely ally in Sihan, her aunt's strict maid, who teaches her about a different life while pushing her to her limits as they conspire to escape the city together.

In 1982 Beirut, 12-year-old Lina's life revolves around her 18-year-old aunt's Syrian maid, Siam. Lina becomes Siam's protector, organizing her romantic trysts and defending her interests. Despite this, Siam and Lina's family barely notice Lina, particularly her reckless and gambling-addicted father. As war, passion, and frustration surround her, Lina tries to connect with adulthood, but remains wild and untamed.
