A notorious outlaw, Billy Bucklin, breaks free from transport to Yuma prison and aspires to dominate the Mexican border with a gang of outlaws. To fund his endeavor, he stages a stagecoach robbery, kidnaps a woman for prostitution, and steals an army payroll. Meanwhile, a veteran lawman and his inexperienced deputy team up to take down the marauders, with the governor paroling the lawman's brother-in-law, a former prisoner serving a 20-year sentence for murder, to aid in their mission.
