Gene, wrongly accused of murdering the sheriff, clears his name and subsequently wins the election to become sheriff, dedicating himself to catching the real culprit who orchestrated his downfall.

In this western drama, Gene Harrison becomes embroiled in a battle against the ruthless Morgan and his cohorts, who are attempting to smuggle infected livestock to the railroad. After Morgan's henchman kills the local Sheriff, Gene decides to run for the position in the upcoming election. Despite Morgan's false accusations, Gene wins the election and soon seizes the opportunity to apprehend Morgan and his gang.
