A 16-year-old girl witnesses a contract killing while out for a run, and her identification helps police apprehend the killer, a known drug kingpin. She wants to testify at his trial, but her mother is concerned for their safety, fearing the killer will target them. As the police try to protect them, the killer's associates continue to threaten them, leading the mother and daughter to go on the run, off the grid, without telling anyone their whereabouts.
