Captain Willoby and his men are stationed on remote Midi Island after World War II, where they face a new kind of challenge: resisting the charms of the island's friendly women. Despite their frustration at not being able to return home, the men are torn between their duty and their attraction to the island's beautiful inhabitants, including Rozouila, who has been presented to Willoby as his "wife." Complicating matters are the arrival of a journalist and a missionary's niece, who add to the temptation and tension.
