Betty Boop- More Pep background

Betty Boop- More Pep

Betty Boop creates a "pep" formula to energize her sluggish pal Pudgy, but the concoction gets loose, causing chaos in the real world as everything and everyone speeds up at an alarming rate.

The "Out of the Inkwell" series introduces Pudgy the Acrobatic Dog, who's too tired to perform due to exhaustion. His friend Betty, perched on an ink-bottle, asks if he needs help. She breaks the fourth-wall and sings a song about having to have pep to wake Pudgy up. To give him a boost, she adds Vim, Vigor, and Vitality to the Pep Machine, which flies out the animated window and into live-action stock footage of parades and NYC scenes. The machine returns, and with renewed energy, Pudgy performs his death-defying stunts.
