The Danish army is alerted on April 9th, 1940, as the Germans cross the border, plunging Denmark into war against Europe's strongest army. Despite the odds, Danish bicycle and motorcycle companies are ordered to hold back the enemy forces until reinforcements can be mobilized. The story follows Second Lieutenant Sand and his bicycle company as they become the first Danish soldiers to engage in combat with the enemy on that fateful day.
