Craig Evans, an American expat in Karachi, Pakistan, is married to a Pakistani doctor who contracts a deadly virus causing uncontrollable rage. With no cure, doctors induce a coma, but the virus spreads, infecting many. A local pharmaceutical company manufactures a drug, Sedare, in the form of an adhesive patch, which only temporarily calms symptoms. As the wife's condition worsens, Craig appears to accept her impending death, but the discovery of a dead investigative reporter's body sets off a chain of events leading Craig to uncover the virus's mystery and potentially save his wife.
