In the heartwarming film, a renowned chef's Chicago restaurant faces financial struggles, but he secures an investor to open a quaint diner, "Salt and Pepper," in the charming small town of Angel Heights. This is also the hometown of TV food correspondent Carly Hayes, who is tasked with producing a Christmas festival pilot to secure her own show, "A Chef's Recipe," on the CSN network. As the chef, his young daughter Tess, and Carly stay with her grandmother Delia, a former restaurateur, their paths intertwine, sparking a PR win-win and romantic possibilities.
